Renaming¶

Rename the photos before uploading them to CoralNet to make it easier to distinguish them and to avoid duplicate filenames when we're uploading photos from multiple camera's and groups.

Metadata:

• Partner
• Area
• Site
• Season
• Transect
• Date
• Photo number

For example, with the fields separated by underscores:

Rilov_Bioblitz_SK-Buoy12_Fall_1_2025-10-23_009.JPG
Rilov_Bioblitz_SK-Buoy12_Fall_1_2025-10-23_010.JPG

I don't know this tool, but some have had success using Bulk Rename Utility.
